Sludge Evacuation

Sludge Excavation Case Study

Challenge

This construction site faced a large amount of mud caused by directional drilling operations. It would have been impossible to collect the sludge. The situation required intervention to continue working on the site.

Approach

The objective was to solidify the sludge and clean the site by forming a solid and transporting and evacuating the solid from the site.

Superabsorbent product AproMud™ powder was sprayed onto the mud surface and then mixed by construction equipment such as excavators. Only five 25 kg bags, i.e., 125 kg, were originally used to produce 60 tons of solid sludge in liquid form. (see photo)

Results

The process only took a few minutes to turn the sludge into a solid.
